MIA — Privacy and medical disclaimer
Version of 12 October 2026, updated on 15 October 2026 · MIA mobile app (iOS and Android) · Français · Nederlands
This translation is provided for information; in case of difference, the French version prevails.
Emergency: 112 in Belgium, 15 or 112 in France (144 in Switzerland). Suicidal thoughts: 1813 (Zelfmoordlijn, Belgium, Dutch), 0800 32 123 (Belgium, French), 3114 (France), 143 (Switzerland).
1. Medical disclaimer
MIA's answers are generated by artificial intelligence from official medicine leaflets (ANSM – French public medicines database, European Medicines Agency, FAMHP, Swissmedic) and public health information. They may be incomplete or contain errors.
- Always check important information with your doctor or pharmacist.
- Never change, stop or start a treatment based only on an answer from MIA.
- MIA does not know your medical record or your prescription.
- The sources used are shown below each answer.
2. Data controller
Platinium LTD, represented by Ervin Bars.

3. What MIA keeps, and what it doesn't
MIA does not save any conversation. Your questions and the answers stay only in the app's memory and are erased when you close it. The server does not store them or write them to any log. MIA does not ask for your name or email address.
| Data | Form | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Account identifier provided by Apple or Google | Encrypted, irreversible fingerprint, never the identifier itself | Until the account is deleted |
| Number of questions asked today | Counter | Reset every day |
| Sign-in tokens (so you don't have to sign in each time you open the app) | Encrypted fingerprint on the server; token in your phone's secure keychain | 90 days at most, or until you sign out |
| Date and version of the accepted policy | Date and version number | Until the account is deleted |
| IP address (to limit abuse: 3 accounts and 50 questions per day per connection) | Encrypted fingerprint, renewed daily, with counters | 48 hours at most |
Data processed by Google for advertising is described in section 5.
4. How a question is processed
- Voice: speech recognition is handled by your phone's system (Apple on iPhone, Google on Android), on the device or on their servers depending on the model. Reading aloud happens on the phone.
- MIA server: your question and the latest messages of the current conversation (10 at most) are sent encrypted (HTTPS) to MIA's server, which processes them in memory without storing them. The language and country set in MIA (by default those of the phone, without location) are included so MIA can answer in your language and give the right emergency numbers.
- Sources: the server consults public pages (official leaflets, public health information). No data about you is sent to these sites.
- OpenAI: to write the answer, the question, the latest messages and extracts from the sources are sent to OpenAI's language model. OpenAI does not use data sent through its API to train its models and may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse. OpenAI is based in the United States: this transfer outside the European Union is covered by the safeguards of the GDPR (European Commission standard contractual clauses).
Avoid giving information in your questions that could identify you (name, address, national number…). It is not needed to get an answer.
4a. MIA in the Médicaliment app
MIA is also offered in the Médicaliment app, for its subscribers (and during the free trial), without ads. In that case:
- Sign-in: the app sends your Médicaliment account token; MIA has it checked by the Médicaliment server (active subscription or trial) and keeps only a hash of the account identifier, a question counter (10 per day) and the date of your consent. No e-mail, name or token is kept.
- Profile: only if you allow it in the MIA screen (a setting you can change at any time), the labels of your conditions and medicines, as chosen in your Médicaliment profile, are sent with each question. This is health data: it is used only to find the leaflets and pages that concern you and to word the answer, is sent to OpenAI under the same conditions as the question, and is never kept by MIA. Your blood tests, diaries and other Médicaliment data are not sent.
- Legal basis: your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw by unticking the setting; later questions are then sent without a profile.
5. Advertising
MIA is free and funded by advertising shown by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited): banners on the home screen and at the bottom of the conversation, an occasional full-screen ad when the app opens or just after sign-in (at most once an hour) and at the end of a conversation, never during a conversation or while an answer is being read.
- Non-personalised ads only: MIA does not ask for Apple's tracking permission and creates no advertising profile.
- Your questions, the answers and any health information are never sent to Google AdMob and are never used to choose ads.
- To show ads, limit their repetition, measure impressions and fight fraud, Google may process technical information about the device (model, system, language, IP address, technical identifiers). Depending on your choice in Google's consent window shown at first launch, cookies or identifiers may be used; if you refuse, Google only shows "limited" ads, without cookies or identifiers.
- You can change this choice at any time in the app.
- Details: Google's policies for partner apps.
6. Purposes and legal bases
- Answering your health questions: your questions may reveal information about your health. They are only processed with your explicit consent, given when you create your account (Article 9(2)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time by deleting your account.
- Managing your account and question quota: performance of the terms of use.
- Preventing abuse and protecting the service (limits per connection): legitimate interest.
- Showing non-personalised ads: legitimate interest in funding a free service; Google's use of cookies or identifiers relies on your consent.
7. Recipients and processors
- LWS (France): hosting of MIA's server.
- OpenAI (United States): generating the answers.
- Apple and Google: sign-in ("Sign in with Apple / Google") and speech recognition, under their own privacy policies.
- Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited): showing ads (section 5).
Your data is neither sold nor rented. MIA contains no audience measurement tool.
8. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection, and the right to withdraw your consent.
- Delete your account: in the app, account menu → "Delete my account". The encrypted identifier, counters and sign-in tokens are then erased immediately.
- Any other request: info@platinium.biz.
- Complaint: you can contact the Data Protection Authority in Belgium (www.dataprotectionauthority.be), the CNIL in France (www.cnil.fr) or the data protection authority of your country.
9. Terms of use
- MIA is free, funded by advertising, and intended for people aged 15 and over.
- Each account can ask 10 questions a day. A failed answer does not count.
- Answers are provided as general information, with no guarantee of accuracy or completeness. Platinium LTD cannot be held liable for a decision taken solely on the basis of an answer from MIA.
- Any abuse (creating accounts in bulk, bypassing limits) may lead to the account being deleted.
10. Sources and licences
Leaflets: ANSM – French public medicines database, European Medicines Agency, FAMHP (Belgium), Swissmedic (Switzerland). Some answers contain UK public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0, translated and adapted by MIA. These bodies do not validate or endorse MIA.
11. Changes
